Strathcona County Fire Fighters Union Local 2461 is a member of the International Association of Fire Fighters, representing 154 members of Strathcona County Emergency Services.

Strathcona County Fire Fighters became affiliated with the International Association of Fire Fighters on September 16, 1975. The local originally consisted of 16 members.

Our members work out of 3 stations providing advanced life support ambulances (contracted to Alberta Health), fire suppression and rescue services.

  • Firefighters and Fashion for Charity
    (article courtesy Sherwood Park News) Ladies in search of an elegant night out and a break from the norm need look no further than the Strathcona County Fire Fighters Ladies Night Out on Thursday, Oct. 20 in support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner is served at 7 p.m. in the agora at the community centre.   • Camp Sunrise Camp Sunrise
    On July 20th, in partnership with the Sherwood Park RCMP, 2461 members hosted the kids from the Camp Sunrise - Kids Cancer Camp. The kids, who are always very excited to visit the firehall, got to see the fire trucks and squad cars, meet a police dog, spray water from a fire hose, watch a Tower Truck demo, and eat a firehall meal. The Fire Fighters always love when these wonderful children come to visit. See you again next year!

  • MD Carwash
    Despite having poor weather members of the SCFD 2011 Recruit Class raised over $2,200 at a car wash and barbecue on June 25 in support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada. Thanks to everyone who participated and to Safeway for donating the food.
